1st Annual Casting Auction
SUPER SUMMER THEATRE will hold our 1st Annual Casting Auction, one of Las Vegas's most unique benefit fundraisers on Sunday, September 11th as part of our 2nd Annual Gala Under the Stars at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.
SUPER SUMMER THEATRE has chosen Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma as the 2017 Season Opener Fundraiser with more than 25 starring and supporting roles on sale to an all-amateur production of the classic American musical, professionally directed by Troy Heard. Proceeds from both the casting auction and the performances that will take place on May 19th and 20th 2017 will support the non-profit SUPER SUMMER THEATRE’S mission and educational outreach programs.
No stage experience (or talent) is necessary. Just a desire to support SUPER SUMMER THEATRE, a love of musical theater, and if you want to win a part, the drive to be a star.
The Gala begins at 5 pm with a VIP Reception and follows with a General Reception at 6 pm with an open bar, delicious appetizers, a Picnic-Themed Raffle, and fun activities for children at this all-ages event. At 7 pm, Dinner and the Program will begin with the Casting Auction and a special performance by Speeding Theatre.
Auctioneer Joaquin Crame of Top Hat Benefit Auctions will spur on the live bidding for the most coveted lead characters, including:
Curly McLain: A cowboy in love with Laurey
Laurey Williams: Aunt Eller's niece, an independent young woman
Jud Fry: A hired hand on Aunt Eller's ranch, a mysterious and dangerous loner
Aunt Eller: Laurey's aunt, a respected community leader
Ado Annie Carnes: A flirtatious, gullible young woman
Will Parker: A simple young man in love with Ado Annie
Ali Hakim: A Persian peddler, enamored of Ado Annie
Twenty (20) ensemble and chorus roles will be auctioned on-line starting on September 1, 2016.
Winning bidders will form SUPER SUMMER THEATRE's all amateur cast for Oklahoma. Rehearsals begin in March 2017 on nights and weekends, culminating in two fully staged concert-style performances, May 19 and 20, 2017 at the Boman Outdoor Pavilion at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.
