The Gateway Arts Foundation proudly presents Hooray For Hollywood, a talent showcase featuring 2015 Music Scholarship Winners and their mentors in a salute to songs from the silver screen. It was 81 years ago when Con Conrad and Herb Magidson took home the first-ever Oscar for Best Original Song: “The Continental,” from the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers musical The Gay Divorcee. Since then, the winners have expanded from big-band dance numbers to include stirring pop epics from animated movies, love ballads from blockbuster romances, and character themes from all sorts of genres including rock, folk, country, funk and, in the 21st century, even hip-hop. Join us as the Gateway Arts Foundation's 2015 Music scholarship winners take you on a nostalgic trip back through time by performing some of the most memorable Original Academy Award Winning Songs from the past eight decades.
